Jennifer Grieves - Distinguished Former Marine Pilot and Instructor

With extensive experience in the United States Marine Corps, Jennifer Grieves has three decades of military service behind her. In the early 2000s, she served as a Marine Helicopter Squadron pilot. She was active in Operation Iraqi Freedom and took on roles in Liberia that helped stabilize the region. Subsequently stationed in New River, North Carolina, Jennifer Grieves held roles as a pilot training officer and deputy operations manager.

Ms. Grieves ensured that every pilot under her command had the proper qualifications and skills required for overseas deployment. She also instructed the squadron in tactics and weaponry, and provided junior pilots and aircrew with tools for meeting the demanding requirements of nighttime flights and night systems.

In 2009, Ms. Grieves made history as part of an all-woman presidential helicopter crew. She was the very first Marine One female pilot, as she navigated a helicopter with President Barack Obama on board from the White House’s South Lawn to Maryland’s Joint Base Andrews. Jennifer Grieves is a Peloton enthusiast who enjoys camping in an Airstream in her free time.
